Introduction

Uppercenters, this week we made a little bit of history — We launched our platform and first course to allow list participants, enabling them to mint an access pass to our inaugural course, “Future-proofing Your Career in the Era of Artificial Intelligence” by Robin Hills.

We tokenised e-learning for the first time on the Flare Network. Our presale will be available to everyone in 5 days, on the 4th of April 2024.

With this being imminent, it seems a good time to delve into why our first presale and first course may transcend being merely just this.

In this article, we’ll dissect the additional significance our debut course embodies.

First Real World Asset (RWA) on Flare

Primarily, our inaugural course marks the arrival of RWAs on Flare, as the access passes tokenising course access introduce a new dimension to online education. RWAs have emerged as a prominent narrative in the space, notably with Blackrock’s recent announcement of an RWA fund. Forbes proclaimed this development with the headline “BlackRock’s $10 Trillion Tokenization Vision: The Future of Real World Assets,” signalling the magnitude of this narrative. As a project on Flare, we aspire to establish Flare as a hub for RWAs. Success with our first course could catalyse further RWA projects to gravitate towards Flare, contributing to the platform’s pivotal role in this developing narrative.

Pioneering Web2.5 on Flare

Web2.5 entails leveraging web3 technology to create products accessible to web2 users without necessitating web3 expertise. To achieve this, infrastructure such as stablecoins, on/off-ramps, and MPC wallets are required. For us to develop a solution catering to the 200 million online students who bought an online course last year, we need to collaborate with Flare to build web2.5 infrastructure on-chain. The success of our first course could pave the way for continued collaborative efforts in this domain with Flare.

Disrupting the $300 Billion E-learning Industry

To our knowledge, we’re among the first projects to tokenise access to online education. By tokenising course access, pass owners can resell their access, creating a secondary market. While the secondary market for physical books exceeds $24 billion annually, the secondary market for e-learning is virtually non-existent. Even capturing a fraction of the e-learning market as a secondary market could yield significant value. For example, if we could turn 0.01% of the elearning market into a secondary market, that’s a $30M per year market created on top of Flare.

Novelty

Should we achieve our aspirations of establishing a secondary market for e-learning, this first course and its access passes will mark the 1st time we ever did this. It would serve as the proof of concept, making our first course the genesis collection that kick started everything — a novelty in its own right.

Demand for the Topic

Our first course addresses a subject poised to gain relevance as AI’s influence expands, impacting numerous careers. As the subject grows in importance, driven by AI’s advancement, the demand for access to our course could increase, especially if this course becomes a leader in this subject area. Access passes, limited to 750 in the presale exclusively available to the Flare community, could become increasingly sought-after by online learners.

Conclusion

Ultimately, the decision to participate in our presale tomorrow rests with you. We hope this article sheds light on the significance of our first course, offering various perspectives to consider. Additionally, in case you missed it, we announced yesterday that any unpurchased passes in our presale will not go to general sale but will instead be burned, ensuring exclusivity for presale participants (Learn more here).

The presale commences this coming Thursday (April 4th). First come, first served. Best of luck!
